channels freezing

some channels are freezing every 2 mins for about 30 secs then coming back on , i have reset router and box and replaced splitter , put compression fittings on cables and got wf100 cable . nat geo +1 seems worse than most . And it sometimes takes a while for picture to come on , on this channel . is it possible that the freq is slightly off and i need to rescan ? im on v*****N and only using the cable and not sat channels . thanks . how would i delete existing channels and rescan ? thanks

Try altering your mg_cfg file so K = 10
Yours may be set lower.
 
i have noticed that mine is set at 05 ,could i edit it instead of deleting it and trying to put yours in , as i dont want to cock things up , as i struggled setting the system up . can you explain what it does if i change it from 05 to 10 ? thanks

Yes edit it if you can.
5 is 5 seconds, 10 is 10 seconds.
Some Channels can clear in the late 6,7,8 seconds so changing it to 10 gives you a better chance of clearing a problem Channel.
Its not guaranteed to work but it's worth trying

This is all dependant on what your server has the timeout set at there end.
 
The freezing is your provider. If they are using cache you probably find freezing is on less common channel. Try more common channel see if freezing stops

Could also be your box if other plugins are running
 
if the problem was at my end i.e. signal , would more than a couple of channels be freezing ? thanks
 
depends m8, sky sports channels need a strong signal where as other may not need that strength. BUT there is a difference between picture breakup and freezing. CHeck a free SD channel and see if it breaks up if it does its your signal

If it doesnt more than likely your provider
