been trying to initialize the hdd, but says cant unmount busy.
manage to unmount drive after finding this Setup, Recording & Timeshift, Timeshift Settings, Now change the value for "Automatically start timeshift after" to Disabled
after initialise the hdd
unfortunately didn't work epg settings not changing
But the test USB is still working for the EPG? How very odd.

Did you check it was mounted as HDD after the initialise process again?

First off, VERY humble apols if this has been covered - I've search and can't find anything so here goes.
Oh and apols for being a stuuuupid nooobie too.

So I got a zgemma h2s sometime ago with software preloaded... openvix. everything was fine but I moved to Australia.
My apartment tv feed seems to be a satellite feed for freesat equivalent over here. I've just set up a projector but don't have a tuner, so decided to dig out the old zgemma.

After a LOT of hassle, I managed to find the Foxtel (sky equiv) sat settings and got some free to air channels, then the box kept crashing.

I did some research and realised I needed OpenAtv and wondered if I could use Wooshbuild but for local Aussie channels (apols if that is a ridiculous thought... still not sure).
So, I have managed to get a usb working and flashed to openatv 6.1!! (second usb - found the issue on the forum for not all usbs working - cheers to all concerned).

ISSUE 1: trying to get wooshbuild infinity... done step 1 as above, but when it says to put the remote down and go to webif...?!?! I'm lost. I'm on a surface pro without hard-wired network connectivity so reliant upon wifi and usb sticks - is that an issue?
ISSUE 2: My wifi dongle seems to have stopped working since I flashed the box. luckily I have an old wifi dongle from my dodgy Chinese IPTV box (say no more...). That works initially, but seems to stop after 5 mins. It also detects my wifi but when I put the password in, openatv says the network test failed... double whammy issue.
Question/Issue 3: If I get all this going, and I managed to get the satellite connection to the Aus ones and get the feeds, will I be able to have a useable EPG to scan through to find the free-to-air channels (or even better, filter out the payable ones, like my TV currently does)??

SO... any clues on how I proceed? I hope this is a fair set of questions and hope I aint wasting anybodys time.
Please be nice....
:)

What about using a different USB port?

Told you I was out of ideas lol

tried a different usb port, but not showing up,
yet it records fine to the hard-drive just no epg.
i will re flash box again and this time initialize the box at the same time, maybe it will see it afterwards.
let you know how i get on
thanks again for the time, advice and effort helping me, thanks

Let me start with the easy bit first Issue 2
Now you have flashed openATV you can see the video wizard.
1. select your TV resolution and then 50or 60hz
2. On the tuner setup wizard, just press OK so the box can detect the satellite you are plugged into - if it can. If it can't, you can manually select the satellite you are looking at.
3. On the network wizard screen, you setup your wireless. So plugin the good wireless adaptor before you turn on the box and sort your wireless out.

Issue 1: Once your box is connected, you can then use the surface pro to open webif in your browser. http://zgemmah2s will probably work, but if not get the IP address of the box. (blue button -> Network - and then adaptor settings maybe?)

WooshBuild Infinity will error for sure as it will be scanning 28.8 satellite. This isn't an issue as everything else will be installed for you. You can then setup your TV freeview as you did before. You may need to uninstall AutoBouquetsMaker as it will keep trying to scan 28.8 unless you can set it up for your sat, but I doubt it.

See how you get on. We are here to help.

What sat service does Australia use? Once you have tuner config set for your sat you can goto AutoBouquetsMaker, providers to see if yours is listed.

ABM providers

Many thanks for this...
So I managed to tune the box - I found the blue button menu :).... it wouldn't auto detect the satellite but I found all the setting online. 688 channels found, but, having played around in the settings to try to remove any that are NOT FTA, I found you can set the icon to show a crypto logo... of the 688, only 5 are FTA on Foxtel... Not quite sure how I was getting more through my apartments mixed feed on the tv... something else to work out.
As for the wifi, I think when I flashed the box, I left my little usb wifi dongle in the front port and it has somehow wiped it... that seems dead now. The working one still only works for a few mins and gives errors connecting to the network. Time for a new wifi dongle I think :S

Once I get that working, hopefully the link above will load the webif. For clarity, I connect the zgemma to my wifi router, and my surface pro being connected on the same network will load webif? Or do I create a local network between the zgemma and my laptop?
cheers once again :) time for bed here too, so apols for what will be a slow follow-up...

i am trying to reinstall Wooshbuild Infinity but when i click on the 'select the make / model of your box. It will open Webif in your browser'
keep getting the message 'We’re having trouble finding that site' is the site down?

the browser is the one right at the top of your web page beginning with http// not the search bar what you type in to search for a web page

Yes, because the zgemma box and surface pro are both connected to the router they same network so should be able to see each other. Because of this the link should work. If not, use the IP address of the box.

If gray1313's answer doesn't help, open a command prompt on your computer and type: ping nameofbox which you didn't mention. This will give you the ipaddress of the box. In your browser then type: http://theipaddress

To be honest, although I appreciate the time taken on your post, I would say the issue lies at your end. Every box I have come across in the zgemma range is already running webif, telnet, ftp and samba which is why the instructions are written as they are. 19 out of 20 default network setups will open webif in the browser when using the http://boxname links provided without the need to find the ip address of the box. Noting mac addresses of boxes and port numbers is pure overkill.

As @gray1313 said, it must work as instructed or users would be running it. With over 2000 installs with only a few users with issues I would tend to look at your network as if you need to have a static ip address because the device name doesn't work indicates an issue. I have never set a static IP on my network and have always used the box name.

All of these boxes can be reached via the network using DNS and also in my browser.

I can confirm the setup works fine on Mut@nt HD51 4K including the Webif.

When you type the ip address into the address bar, make sure it's in this format 192.168.0.15
if it's in this format it won't work 192,168,0,15
this is the message i am getting, been trying for 2 hours, different browsers

Unable to connect

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.20

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Hi all. I've just got around to installing infinity on the zgemma 2s as I haven't been able to use the IPTV plug in since I re-flashed Wooshbuild V5 to V7 (box freezing etc.) However, Infinity still doesn't seem to have resolved the issue? All lists are populated for the various providers, but very few will load (most just remain at the "loading please wait" screen. Yify informed me that there was no codec present that can handle the stream's type. Code 6, and when I exit the plug in and return to tv, the picture is blank although the sound is present. The only way to resolve it is to reboot via the button on the back of the box, because if I try via long hold of remote standby button and restart the box remains on the shutting down screen.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Extra info: Box displays 0101 before attempting to load requested titles

This just means the box isn't connected to the network.
Turn modem and box off at the socket and wait a few mins then restart them both
Make sure you put the ip address in the address bar
no http, www or anything else, then click enter

Apologies if this isn't a WB infinity related question, I'm running infinity on an h2s box. I was using the srp 220 light of transparent picons for sat and iptv in my epg which worked perfectly. I recently mistakenly updated the iptv bouquet maker plugin to have picons which replaced my previous picons with ones I don't like, I changed that setting back. Deleted the picon folder on the hdd and tried to add the srp 220 light on transparent picon plugin back but I can't find it in the plugin download area, I also can't see it in the remove plugin section, anyone know how I can get these back without reflashing?

Infinity installs picons as standard on setup so you should be able to go to the remove section and open the picons section and remove anything in there. Installing picons is also in the picons section.

Green -> Red -> Picons -> select and remove all picon sets - exit button once.
Green button (download plugins) -> picons -> Select the picon set you want.

If there are no picons you like you will need to download them manually and install the ipk on your box.

The picon set Infinity uses is the same one as previous WooshBuild versions. This is available in the download plugins / picons section.
