what will be the best alternative if our channels go from our boxes i hope they dont but just thinking ahead

Do you just need to have virgin broadband in your area or do you need to actually have virgin broadband or have had virgin tv in the past so that you've got the cable connection? Or is the cable connection already there just by virtue of virgin bb being in the area?
