best coax wire for cable

i read in a post recently that for cable coax wire RG6 wire is better than RG59 because of less signal loss/leak.
just been in maplins and theyed have to order RG6 cos they dont stock it...thing is though RG59 is £1.29 pm, and the guy said RG6 is £0.29pm which doesn't add up if RG6 is supposedly better than the other.
is there a notable difference between the two types of wire?

But if you can get it for 29p pm then you lucky you!
Your understanding of RG59 & RG6 is fine

thanks mate. i thought same, i even questioned him...he was adamant its 29p a metre though. gonna go back soon and order some.

Forget RG59 for sat/tv signals, it's only good for frequencies up to 50Mhz. RG6 is the cable for Sat/TV.
