Blade Media BM7000 powering off

Hi folks,

My BM7000 has started to power off intermittently. I have to switch it off and on from the rear of the box to get it to work again.

I understand it is a hardware issue, has anyone experienced this?

Any ideas how to repair it?

It's about 3 yrs old.. I suspect the caps too but want to check before I dive in

On Technomates you take the cover off and have a look,in the power supply section,for bulging caps.Will be the same for Blades.Got to say I would've thought that the cap problem would've been sorted by 3 years ago,and whether Blades had this fault, but it's worth a try.Cheers
 
Ok, so finally managed to open the box. All caps look fine so back to scratch with this one..

Anyone got any idea what could it be?

The symptoms are box powers off ( no lights ) to get it to work I have to turn it off and then on from the rear
 
my blade was doin the same thing,i tried a SAC F Connector Lightning Surge Protector on it and it now works ok ,dunno if it was a fluke ? one of these on the link -: SAC F Connector Lightning Surge Protector , also i tried a labgear lightning surge protector but that didn't work ??
