I have heard that there is going to be a cable version of this box
If this is true does anybody know the release date of the box?

You are correct,

There pretty much the same as the Sat version with the additional Tuner , they have double the Ram, Upgraded Power supply due to extra Tuner.

Switching between Sat/Cable channels works flawlessly.

Apart from that more will follow shortly.

Was waiting on a cable version because dont have a satellite dish and dont really want to go through the hassle of setting one up

I dont understand your question, how can they improve something that has not been released yet?.
