Cable Amplifier

SJM2017

Newbie
As i am having a few vm channels drop completely on the H.2h i am looking to to improve the signal.

I have a vm splitter which they provided for tv channels and broadband.

Could someone recommend an amplifier that would do this (2 output only)?

Maybe i could bypass the vm splitter and just use a 1 in/ 2 out amplifier.

As my previous post on the subject stated, i never had issues with the tivo box and most channels on the H.2H are around 75%.

I know its not an uncommon problem with this tuner but i will buy something if its possible to improve the signal.

You could try with this one mate:

Thanks.

I forgot to ask. With that or other amps do i amplify the tv cable from the vm splitter or amplify the main cable only?

I am not sure how they work myself.

I have ordered one which arrives in 2 weeks... (4 port though)

I will have to test what connects to the input and what connects to output when i receive it.

Sorry hope someone else can help us on that.

So i bought the Technetix HDU 200 but i'm unsure about the cable i need to use for the power supply.

The psu input on the amplifyer and on the cable attached to the plug are the same, and it looks like i need to
just run a satellite cable with 2 f connecters between the two.

Is this correct?

You could buy this one - works really well and replaces the splitter

Have you tried to see if this works well?

I have a USB Tuner for Cable and got:

https://www.amazon.com/Bi-Directional-Amplifier-Splitter-Booster-Passive/dp/B001BMKNZI/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488388446&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=2+port+hdu+amplifier

It seems to still glitch a little on it when channel is started up..

Not sure if its the USB tuner or the amplifier...

I have a USB splitter connected as well think it can be that also.

Might be wrong here but I am sure Cable requires an Active Return Path and the above says it has a Passive Return Path - not sure what the difference is but it could be because of that.

I have the Technetix HDU 200 working now.

Simple coax/satellite cable with f connectors between the psu input on the unit and the mains plug.

It increased the signal up to 10% on the few channels that were breaking up, namely Eurosport HD1 and Discovery HD.
Both are perfect now.

Thanks for the input.
