http://www.goal.com/en/teams/england/16/englandEngland coach http://www.goal.com/en/people/italy/144/fabio-capello/nationalFabio Capello has confirmed that he will quit as national team manager after Euro 2012.

After England’s dismal display in this summer’s World Cup, many pundits called for Capello to resign, but the Italian has managed to win his critics over by guiding his team to impressive back to back qualifying victories over Bulgaria and Switzerland.

With six points and seven goals from those two games, England are in pole position to qualify, and another win against Montenegro next month would only strengthen their position.

However, it seems that if England can continue their good form and qualify for Euro 2012, it will be Capello’s last actions as coach.

When questioned about whether the tournament would be his last as England manager, Capello responded in a typically upfront manner.

“Absolutely. Yes,” he told reporters.

"We have to qualify first of course but after that I will be too old.

"I want to enjoy my life as a pensioner."
