Can somebody advise what DLNA on sat boxes is and what the purpose of it is.totally confused about DLNA.Would really appreciate some help thanks

It allows you to stream content from other dlna compatible devices like your laptop

thanks for the reply.i take it that would be through wifi and the box would need to be wifi enabled is that correct?

through ethernet or wifi. it will pick up any shared folders on a windows workgroup, so as long as your device is connected to your router (wifi or ethernet) then you should be able to stream photos and videos

I know the skybox/openboxes had dlna. You can also install the plugin dlna_browser on any enigma2 box and works a treat this is a good way to watch movies stored on your pc or from a mass storage usb connected to your pc
