Do second hand Tivo/Sky Boxes still pick up FTA?

Hey guys I've got a spare cable connection aswell as a sat connection (No Aerial) in a spare room and I see Tivo/Sky boxes going for around £10-20 on Gumtree and Ebay and was thinking of picking one up as they would probably better than just a freeview box. I'm sure this question has been asked before however I couldn't find a post. Also would you still be able to record?

Tivo 1-4 only old sat box full free view you will not be able to record

If you could find a second-hand openbox or a satellite zgemma(or other brands) for a similar price, you would be better off as you have all the freesat channels(around 100) and you would be able to record.
