Do VM disconnect lines physically or just at their end restrict normal service?

If you cancel your services and they physically remove you from the green box/cab your very unluck.It doesnt happen on a whole;)

My old man has just cancelled his VM services, yet another price hike, so I'm looking to get him a wee box (looking at the edision OS mini). He's not officially getting cut off until the start of October but I'll let you guys know if the box still works after the cut off.
Hoping it will as he's in a 4 in a block and think it uses the same main line as the neighbours but I may be talking rubbish?

In my area in Ireland I had UPC for TV and then VM took over.

Then they stopped supplying for the reason I have linked.
