Dream box DM500~S resetting locked

Hi folks,

i have a dm500s I need to reset for my brother. It does not have the ability to access the set up because it's locked. It has no usb so I'm really stuck what exactly I do.

Can some please give me a guide as it would be a shame to throw this antique out

all it has is phone line access Ethernet and digital audio which is nothing

Not an antique as they still work well. On rear of box---lnb in,lnb out,RS232 socket above rca outlets, scart socket,digi-audio optical for hi fi, power socket and ethernet port---you need a pc/laptop.
You need to download a copy of dreamup, you need a null modem rs232 cable and the ethernet cable plus a 21pin scart lead
You also need an image file--either open pli---or commando.
Full instructions are available on the net and help available in forum.
A little bit of research will give you a nice toy to play with.
