Hi all

Have been off the cable scene since my Eurovox died in 2010 due to Nag 3

Have had a quick read about now and am i right in thinking that the newer boxs require a internet connection to a server hosted some where to obtain the nag 3 keys to decrypt the chans?

Unlike the old days of nag 1 where the box done this it self?

Yes all boxes cable or satellite require an internet connection to a server that sends out the decryption keys for the channels you are watching.

Thought so

So i assume the servers these boxs connect to the operator has a way of getting the keys...

Oddly wonder why this procedure is not common knowledge?

be handy ans save the hassle of relying on a server some where..

It's the same principle as card sharing on Satellite, but the software that does share a cable card seems to be a closely guarded secret and not available by looking on the internet where satellite card sharing software is freely available.
