Clarence Clemons, renowned saxophonist of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, dies at 69 due to complications following a recent stroke. Clemons died in Palm Beach, Florida.

Clemons, born in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1942 was a beloved musician and friend, whose saxophone solos defined the E street Band’s signature, genuine sound.

Clemons’ career did not stop at being Springsteen’s right hand man, the saxophonist also played with greats such as Aretha Franklin, Grateful Dead, and most recently Lada Gaga, in which Clemons is featured in her video of ‘Born This Way’, which is widely considered Clemons’ last piece of work.

Clemons will surely go down in history as one of the most genuine, unique, soulful, and original saxophonists to date, and the E Street Band will surely mourn the loss of an integral musician and friend. :(

Great Saxophonist, great solos in the likes of born to run, etc. May he rest in peace.
