facebook and http/https - true or false

have no idea how true this is as i dont know much about the difference between http and https. Ok i know IF im using my bank or sites like that i need the S but with the likes of forums and social network sites is this needed. I notice i dont have the S on TK or any other forum. So is ther any need to" panic" as im sure people will. I did look on hoax slayer but could not find anything related to it

FYI-While on Facebook, look at your URL address; if you see http: instead of https: then you don't have a secure session and you can be hacked. Go to Account|Account Settings|Account Security and click Change. Check at least the first setting, FB defaults to the non-secure setting. Re-Post for your Friends!

Its not a hoax Linny, and it depends what info you are sending when using Facebook etc that will dictate wether you should use\enable it or not. If you are spoutiting your bank account details etc on facebook then you should use it, but if your info does not need encrypting, then don't bother Linny as at present it will slow down your browsing.

lol It does say on the likes of Facebook etc some things will not function properly,

I changed mine for curiosity and I could not do my farm (lol I know 'sad') had to change back to Http ;)

ah cool thanks guys! so no need to have the S then s i dont even display my email or moby on fb - only I can see it :)
so might just take it back off then!
