Fibre to the House Required?

Dixed

Newbie
Hi guys!
I've had a good look through the first 15 or so pages of posts and can't find any info on this.

Q1 - Do you need to have the fibre feed all the way to your house to use a cable receiver?

Q2 - VM isn't available yet in my area, they don't like many places in Scotland apparently haha! I can get Sly fibre though, is this an option for a cable receiver?

Any info on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Having a sat/cable box has nothing to do with fibre Internet. If you can't get CABLE in your area you can't have a cable box and will have to get a sky box instead any Internet will do

Thanks for the replies guys! So you can only use VM.

But I understand you get different stages of Fibre from VM; Fibre to the cabinet your street (FTTC) and Fibre to the House (FTTH) all the way to your router from the street. Do you need FTTH?

Unless VM is in your area supplying a feed to your house then you have no chance of obtaining cable tv.
You can go to their website and check whether available in your area or not.
Reaper.
