FireFox problem

Hi,

I have been using firefox without any problems for a while.

But today for some reason it will open the home page but
when I search for anything using this browser my computer just locks up.

(I am using Internet Explorer so I can post this with no problems)

Done the Cntl - Alt - Del thing to try and get into task manager
but it wont even let me do that.

I have to keep my finger on the power button to force it to shut down.

Then restart the computer, done a system restore but it said no programs
where effected, so I got the same result.

I don't want to remove the program if I can help it and do a fresh reinstall
as I loose all my bookmarks and passwords lol (speaking from experience here ROFL)

Does anybody know if you can get it to check and repair itself ?

Or any other solution to this problems

Just got it sorted, seems that if you start it from the
windows start - programs it recognized a problem and
sorted it out.

I was using a shortcut on my desktop and it just kept re-occurring.

U can allways backup all your stuff for free with google, google sync its called i think
