Help With Compromised Email Account

I presume someones either hacked your e-mail or you suspect that your e-mail has been hacked. If the account is still under your control then I will suggest:
1) Change your password regularly, and also keep a very strong password, one that uses symbols, small/upper caps, and numbers.
2) Ensure that you have a strong answers for your security question.
3) Don't advertise your e-mail publicly on the internet, it'll only attract your inbox to SPAM.
4) Regularly check your computer for viruses, malware such as keyloggers can quite easily send your password to the hacker if your system has been infected.
