Asus laptop gone slow on Opera and spinning symbol and not loading page and chatted to pc repairs and he said infected .
Malwarebytes premium on this Asus W10 and windows defender.
Should i be running anything better?

I have reset Opera browser and seems to be working again but thought i would ask.

I have a Windows Gaming PC and only use it for gaming. I don't run anything other than Windows Defender. Running antivirus/anti-malware software is going to have an impact on system performance. It really depends on what you are browsing on the internet and what you are downloading.

Off topic - interesting you choose Opera browser. Just interested why that's your browser of choice? (no judgement by the way, just interested)

Yes i found it handy as times used the VPN and not hogging up the machine as used Mozilla when issues happened.
Surprising the difference now as pages are loading better and running Defender full scan and not frozen yet.

Mostly used for Adverts , Donedeal , FaceBook and chatting to spammer scammers 😂
Might have downloaded a number of photos or files.

I use opera browser and I only ever use window defender and malwarebites and never had any issues. I also used to download a lot of torrent and didn’t have any issues either with the same set up.

3 1/2 hours later defender has found no threats
Malwarebytes throws up warnings from dodgy sites and nothing there either.

I can assume then when the tech said it was infected , and a reset of Opera browser would not have fixed my problem.

Your best defence is to stay away from these porn sites you frequent.(y):ROFLMAO:
