i can confirm that it works but tends to buffer a lot, probably due to only using on wifi.

I haven't had any buffering issues and I watch it on 4g out and about.

Thats good to know as i suspected it was a wifi issue, i'll retest when my data gets refreshed.
how quick does it eat data?

It would be pretty sore on data but you shouldn't be having issues on wifi. I'd suggest turning your router off for and few mins and see if that helps.
