IPTV Sony TVs

Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I have tried searching through the forum but unable to find anything conclusive.

After seeing my SmartIPTV set up, my bro in law is interested in getting IPTV but has a Sony TV. I cant see the SmartIPTV in the sony app store, but I do see SS IPTV? Any ideas if this can work (in the same was as smartIPTV)?

If not, what are the alternatives? Im not very technical so would appreciate a little detail in responses.

I mainly use E2 boxes but have used PerfectPlayer & STB emu on a Sony Bravia in the past, I have read that these apps are being removed from appstore in an effort to stop streaming although Ive also read there is a way to side-load these apps
 
Is it the one of the Android models? If so you can use smarters or similar.
The ss iptv can be loaded by usb if memory serves.
