Missing DLL Files After System Restore

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Had a few problems with IE so decided to restore- then had a problem with that and tried to undo restore. <br />
Now thats whats caused the problem. I cant do JS with it <br />
I cant now go back into restore as it says VssTrace.DLL is missing. Now cant even get onto the internet. it also will not recognise a USB<br />

so totally had it! <br />

There was a problem starting werconcpl.dll The specified module could not be found <br />
The porograme cant start because VssTrace.ddd is missing. try reinstalling the program to fix this<br />
there was a problem starting C:\Windows\ststem32\WerConCpl.dll The specified module could not be found<br />

Serves me right - ive had one of those days today!<br />
will not let me open backup. will add pix i took on phone<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

cheers Sinno will take a proper look 2mora! had a quick look tongiht, i got a copy of that file werconcpl.dll
I have also done virus and malware checks as well as pc tuneup and all clean. just hope i can get that file onto pc as the usb sockets would not recognise a flash drive i put in

No sorry Gman it was this pc ( pc1) that i did that restore on!
on the other pc i think i restored to far back - which is why when i noticed it was trying to find my old printer, so then tried to "undo" the restore - which was over a yr old i saw 09/02 but didnt take notice that it said 2011 rather than 12 - so thought it was just a few weeks old! ( i did click see more restore points and didnt check date :( )

I did wonder why it took so long to do both!

well i did try but it didnt work ( well couldnt find some of the info it told me to look for) Yes i should have just given up - but i cant once i get a bee in me bonnet as they say!
 
Have added the zip file to the folder as said in the link sinno posted but still getting this when i log on

It looks like whatever you done has screwed up some of the OS system files? You should run SFC as per instructions HERE: It checks all system files for problems and replaces them with clean original copies.
 
ive added all the new dll files for those that were missing, i have NOT deleted the old files - kept both - should i delete the old files.
i tried to get into the comand prompt but says i need to be administrator - obviously im the only user on there so must be,how do i make me the administrator

Before i logged off i got the following pic with background. Now i cant get back on i get the same message with black background and if i use the ok or X box disappears and left with black background<!-- google_ad_section_end -->tried in safe mode still same :( even tried safe mode with command prompt!
so now gone from something with dll's missing to absolute nothing!

did get in to boot menu (f12) if i tried to boot via EHD would that help?

your best bet now Linny is to get whatever you can off the hard drives on the PC and reinstall windows. If you go messing with anything else noone will have a clue what your after doing and no further options or advice could be given.

Agreed, bite the bullet and reinstall Linny (y)

Does the PC have a recovery partition or do you have the install disc?

When you're done it would be wise to image the clean install with Acronis True image.

mmm thought someone was going to say something like that! the external hard drive has backup on it but cant get into the acer hard drive on the pc and as the pc didnt come with any disks i havent got a copy of windows 7 as it was pre loaded -as they are when you buy them from stores!
can i use the acer recovery disk i made from this pc? or should i just use the backup that i have on the external hard drive

sorry Gman didnt see your reply! answer to both your questions is no! had that pc a few yrs and never knew ( and still dont really know) how to do a recovery partision) although it does have a DATA drive like this one so think the drives were 500 each! I dont actually have an external for this pc - MUST pinch the one that the films are on to use for backup for this pc

although working still not right so copying all i need onto an external and will then copy acer recovery disks and do a fresh install!
sorry being a right pain in the wotsit!
 
before i drastically reinstall i did the sfc /scannow and this is the result sfcscannow.jpg which means nothing to me

i have tried copying and pasting findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt into the command prompt but it shows nothing!
