Moving from SKY+HD Box

Has something like this happened in the past, where Sky introduced new encryption and everyones subs stopped working? Im just curious to know the likelihood of someone being able to crack it.
 
Yes. With the hd going a few months ago.
but general view is we will get a heads up as sky will prob have to force replace a lot of older boxs for new encryption. But again all this is just guess work.
 
But has there been a time when the channels went due to an update from Sky and they had to be cracked again? Just trying to understand if such things happened like they do with Apple devices and jailbreakinf for example
 
Yes theres old methods from years ago that sky caught onto and new methods needed. And will probably happen again sometime but impossible to know when.
for years now theres always been someone saying "its about to end!" Lol
it eventually will. But not within this year imho. (I hope)
