glad to hear he's better, had lot of experience with dog with gastric issues, no fun. When he gulps the food he's gulping air too, which could lead to sick or actual vomit, have you tried putting something in his bowl?, you could block the centre of the bowel, and he has to eat round the edges ,if you know what I mean, you can buy plastic bowls, with little pillars in them, dog has to steer round to get the food, you could try a bun tray if you had one handy too. Does he have competition at home, another cat or dog? I have a 17 month old Springer, had gastro issues a while back, a blockage that resolved without surgery, & lots of sardines...He eats slow enough, but I also have a cat, & when I take the dog out, nearly always, goes everywhere with me, the little bugger is like a hoover, clearing up every last bit of grub ,in case the cat gets it. The big worry about air is bloat, more so in bigger , less active, overweight dogs, can be fatal if it goes unnoticed. It's great he's doing well again, I find when the dog's not well, you're not the better yourself, be goodyes thanks mate, hes full of himself again. he eats too fast which makes him sick sometimes so we have to watch him but hes full of beans again. And Turkey :)
edit :just see pabloescaban has posted same suggestion re the bowl, never saw the sniffle mat before, good idea, but my fella would probably eat that too....
