I have vermin using a zgemma, wanted to try this firestick as a backup, im having nightmare getting a build on it, namely nolimits build (the best apparently ?). I can add repository and can download the nolimits adult builds, but when they install I just says nolimits wizard error check logs, I cant get past this stage, is this not working or something, should I be looking to use a different builds ?, I have kodi 18.1 leia installed.

I'm not sure why you need to put a build on a firestick? just search or enter the url you want and download the apps? what are you trying to do?

Builds are bloated and most of the apps on builds have exactly the same content anyway. Start with a fresh Kodi,google the latest addons and it gives full instructions how to install the repo's and just install repo's with file manager then just try a few addons to find the ones that work. It's easier that way as when they stop working you can just remove one app and add another. With builds there are far too many things installed. I just use the Aeon Nox Silvo skin and it is easy to customise the menu to your own taste .
Im after a virgin TV like experience, what are the mainstream apps that people use on these, I just googled how to do a firestick and soon realised that all the websites were pretty much spam, came here as usual and the fogs cleared.
Should I stick with kodi 18 leia or is there a more stable one ?, my previous experiences with kodi is that it was always breaking, is there payments that need to be made like with virgin and wooshbuilds
Check out link below for info on installing a build on kodi 18 from one nation portal. I recommend nebula build just make sure ya select the build for kodi 18. I would always recommend using a real debrid account for kodi as the free links always buffer.

ill have a look at that, so could I pick out the parts I like and add them to a fresh install as stand alone addons ?...by putting addons will I achieve TV like I have with virgin and server provider or is this a whole separate thing, I would like all the sports channels and sky movies etc.
What do I do with the realdebrid account when I get it, is it this that gets me the tv ?
You can get add-ons on kodi for live tv but all the free ones are not reliable. Check out this thread if ya need an iptv sub. Most subs will use their own android app.
You can install a build and just delete what ya don't want. I just use kodi for movies and tv shows. I only use a few add-ons which are maverick, supremacy and Yoda.
The real debrid does not get ya the free tv it just gives you links for movies and tv shows that will not buffer.

Kodi is only good for movies and tv shows ,live tv is very hit and miss on Kodi. If you have Virgin cable you could get a cable sub as you can still get most channels or the other alternative would be to get an IPTV sub.
I have a zgemma with a virgin sub, however, you get freezing at certain times and its quite annoying, was wondering if the iptv sub on the firestick would be better and would I get a lot more than what I get on virigin.
~Also where can I get the porn channels, would this come as part of the iptv sub or an addon ?

IPTV would give you a lot more channels than Virgin and most IPTV comes with adult channels and you also get VOD for movies and tv series.

I would just get an IPTV sub instead of goin down the root of bloating your stick and having to update when new builds versions etc come out.
On my stick i only have my IPTV sub my filelinkd app which is like google play store its where i keep all my other apps for mobile tablet etc but can put them on the firestick if you choose to it has vpn apps for speed test etc like an all in one shop for android lol .
and also a cleaning app one click cleaner that cleans temp files etc.
