octa core v dual core

Can anyone help, would an octa core R8 or M8 run better than the MXQ I have at the moment especially when I'm streaming live football.
My internet is supplied by Virgin Media and is very fast at 50Mbps.

depends what speed the initial core runs at and is it an actual Dual core or a hyperthreading one even octo cores can be hyperthreading models

Will have to check all models and find best one out there,
