hi flash box 7.3 version all ok,,gone to putty to put in script all ok till i get to root enter root then asked me for password which i did not know ,so found password in menu on box inserted a5 word password ,saved it gone back to putty ,,root enter up comes password type in my password up comes password not recognize please can some one help or advise what i am doing wrong thanks

You set your own password. Then use it to login via putty.
Go to password setup in menu and make it simple, like 1234.
Save.
Then use that to login.
You may need to close down putty and reopen it again
done as you said made password 12345 gone back to putty did root then enter password comes up but wont let me put it in

Power off the box, then close down putty completely.
Power on the box.
Open putty and try login again
tried that still wont let me put it in
yes saved it and told me password has been changedaha did you press Green to save watch bottom of screenand you get a message " password changed"

Try Just using a 4 digit password like 1111 (not 5 digit 12345)
Open putty and make sure you enter the ip address of your box (not your router ip address)
Check connection type is ssh and is showing as telnet
Click open
then login: type root and press enter
then enter your password and press enter
then paste your script and press enter
should work
will do using telnet for connection thanks
tried that wont let me enter password then tell me timeout

You aren't listening.
When you put the password in telnet/putty, nothing appears.
This is normal.
Just type in your password and click enter and it will open up

Do as everyone has said , when you type your pass word in , you don't see the key press output on the screen,
So just type it and press enter
