Open Vix to Atv

Currently using opn vix v4.01, (2016), thinking of trying open atv, mainly because updating the system is available without having to reflash the box, can I use the hard drive I currently used attached to the box, Zgemma H2H, without having to reformat the hard drive, I have recording on there for the grandkids to watch, only really use the box for viewing and timeshift etc,

if you are using an unsupported box, ie:zgemma
then I'd totally recommend using ATV
turn box off completely, remove your HDD
and reflash using one of the many tutorials to be found on the forum,
try and save you recordings onto your PC, as the box may want you to re-initialise your HDD
 
Hi Could anyone help I'm trying to change from openvix to Openatv ive flashed a usb with openatv but all im getting is usb updt (update) then boots up with openvix

a small USB [ <8G ] properly formatted to FAT32 in the rear port
and the file unzipped and only the zgemma folder on the usb.?
I think you may have to push the front power button on the box after you power it up and it says flsh on the front panel

It was the front power button after formatting 3 usb and trying differnt images it was the front power button.
