As far as I know there are only cloned mag 250s, there should be a holographic sticker on the underside with "made in the Ukraine" printed on it, also cloned boxes will not run the latest firmware so most cloned boxes have instructions telling you not to update the box

I've just emailed infomir asking the same question about my 256. They responded within a few hours. Asked for a picture with the Mac and serial numbers. They'll tell you if it's genuine.
