Problem flashing new image

Hi all

I currently have a vu+ duo running black hole image (can't remember which version) but would like to try a new one, possibly openpli or vix.
I've Googled how to and all seems straight forward, format usb, transfer file and insert usb in front of duo. But for the life of me I just can't get it work, is there something I'm missing?
Please can someone help

Tried with openpli 2.1 and 3.0

Im running vix not sure about openpli, but with vix build 32 you need new bootloader

Ah, never even thought about that. How do I go about that?

just looked in download section here cant find bootloader for vu+, I use wos world of sat for images & bootloaders, Im sure it will be on this site somewhere,
make sure not a clone before loading image or bootloader, also make sure usb stick formatted correctly, I know vu don't like some usb sticks
