Recording problem

I thought I had my VU+ Solo 2 box all set up fine, until I tried to watch a different channel to the one I was recording and I couldn't.
Is this a common mistake that new comers make? Have I missed an obvious set up process?

Check your tuners, if Tuner A is set to both watch and record then it will conflict, I set my tuner A for viewing and Tuner B for recording.

both mine are setup as simple and single and both list 28.2 as its a fixed dish,cams to use are 1.38 or 2.30.

Mine are also both set to simple - single.
i don't know how to tell if they are watch or record though?
