Recording Space

Hi guys. When i purchase one of these boxes what amount of storage would you recommend? How much recording time do you get per Gb roughly?

From what I have seen SD recording is roughly 1gb and hour. HD recording can be around 3gb an hour
I got a 1tb Toshiba canvio that has got the EPG, time shift, swap file, quite a few films on and also 40+ episodes of in the night garden in hd and there is still 80% free space on it
