Cable Recording USB/HDD set up help required please

Helo All

Can anyone please point me in the right direction regarding set up of USB/HDD for recording.
I have initialised devices and followed numerous threads to achieve this and it's just not working
unless I am expecting more out of the H1 than is possible. Thanks in advance.

is your external hdd powered and your disk mounted?you have got 2 active feeds to box to allow viewing and recording?

My external HDD is not powered and I only have one feed cable thanks.
In general my problem or lack of setup knowledge is applicable to HDD & USB stick.

These boxes can be fiddly with non powered USB hdd's, it should be as simple as initialising the drive and mounting it, once done you should see it available and can configure recording settings then, if you cant see it or its not initialising then use a powered drive, or just to make sure the USB port is good on the box itself try setting up with a USB stick first.
