Removing hdd to view recordings on different device

This again is probably a stupid question but if I record a program then remove hdd to watch on laptop or other device, when I plug hdd back in will it need to be setup again

your hard drive has probably been setup as ext4. You will not be able to view it on a windows computer.
But you can unplug your hardrive no problem and just plug it back in. It will just carry on where it left off as it has already been initialised and mounted.

You are better of using openwebif (you don't even have to remove your hdd.)

type your zgemmas ip address into your laptops address bar.

you can find your zgemmas ip by going menu...information... network....

then when in open webif. scroll down to the bottom and on the left hand side you will see movies.

click that and this will then give you a big list of your recordings in the main window.

You can now press play button to play it on your tv.
press the blue tv icon to stream it to your laptop
press download
etc etc

much better way.
