Retaining Sly+ after subscription ends

I'm hoping someone can advise on the following. My current set up is as follows:

Downstairs: Sly+ HD box with active Sly+ entertainment package subscription with 2 inputs.

Upstairs: Skybox F5S (with 1 input) plus 1 Sly+ HD box with 1 input (within 30 days notice of multiroom package.

As my upstairs multiroom subs is about to end, I'm assuming I'll revert to basic FTA channels and the sly+ feature will be switched off via a 'kill' signal? Does anyone know a way of retaining this feature after this happens?

If you dont have a subscription with sly and want to retain the record features on fta channels you to pay £10.50 per month fella.

Ive heard people saying the record feature stays on but you will never know until its actually switched off i suppose.
