Satellite for North America

So I see all these posts about satellite and FTA reception amongst other things but all the post seem to be from our European brethren. What are my options, if there are any, for the US? Will the same set-up work? The blade media box that I have seen HiTeck talk about looks very interesting. The ability to play my stored media files along with its other abilities seems that it would be a hands down winner in this area. I figured if anyone could set me on the right track it would be you guys. Thanks.

Ripit, a while back (~2years ago) FTA was all the rage in socal. Along came Nagra 3, and all the rage came to a complete stop. I have not kept up, but I do not hear about FTA in socal anylonger. Hope this helps

Thanks for the response Endo. I was hoping that perhaps the new systems had found a way around this as it has been discussed a lot here lately. But I guess that maybe not.
