Was looking about on google for a f5 and saw a f6, anyone own/know about them and should i hold fire on the f5 and get one of
these for 55 quid?

think i would prefer the openbox s6000hd linux e2(open sourced) cause as we all know skybox say their boxes do this and that but it never seems to come off and they just upgrade models with the promise of something new.
 
Cosmetic upgrades.

I'm happy with my F5's performance as of now. Once it starts acting up, I might look at VU+ boxes, Dreamboxes or the likes.
Skybox are a good first box to have, but if you want more in terms of performance and features, look elsewhere.
 
Seeing as it'll be my first box for ease of use and as its already tried and tested I think im probably best going for the F5, ive got a wd 1tb hdd to connect to it already so thanks for the input

support is done with third party open sourced images like vix and blackhole ect. linux is the most supported system there is. boxes like f5,f6 have closed source images you have to take what they give you thats it but a great starter box.

dont go for an all in 1 f5 you may get scammed also watchout alot of dud/clone f5s showing file mismatch when you try to update them especially off fleabay

just sent you a pm with site that does f5s for just over £48 each with postage. i have used them many times ;)

apologies if its a stupid question but think i also read that some linux clones need a specific image to be loaded or they can be bricked too, if it runs on linux shouldnt it take any image or is it still hardware specific
 
Some ppl reporting its a fake, well that'll make decisions easier lol

yes it will be better made than the crap skybox turn out lol proper satbox not made out of bottle top lids like f5s.
maybe its north korea sending the fakes in their idea of warfare lol

looks like your really impressed with them sb hehe, what would you recommend thats the cheapest next best thing m8, as im pretty sure alot of ppl buying their first receiver want to try it out with as little outlay as possible and then go forward

i was at first impressed with them but the cracks are showing now. in fact i have gone back to the f3. but the box i like are the blade bm7000s about £150 proper 7day epg and channel updates via the satbox and they are easy to setup for a beginner
 
I have had my F3 now for a while and had no issues at all - am still learning new things about it - but the box out there that is the closest to Sly box is Vuo+ range - namely the Duo or Ultima - there are some cheaper clones of these boxes - but the original Vuo+ Duo is going to be my next box
 
hi all would someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction for a good sever please I brought a skybox f3 with 12 month a gift pre-loaded and I wish i'd hadn't now because I get lots of freezing ive look at Google but don't wont to get stung again any help would be grateful I tried to pm but it seems i'm not aloud ?

Hi I see a lot of people who are a bit unhappy with the f5 on here as there are apparently a few problems after a while. What kind of problems do you get with them? I am happy with the epg that doesnt bother me. I would be happy to get a year out of my skybox f5s which I recently purchased. Am I likely to get that?

The F5 is a good easy box to start off with People need to read up on how to update them when things change There is no real reason why it shouldnt last a year or longer
 
updating channel list ,adding a line A lot of people are buying the boxes (some clones) of fleabay with gifts and expecting them to work just like sky does. if they took a bit of time to read up on the boxes it might save a lot of the problems
 
I have added a line and know how to update my channel list so hopefully I have everything covered and I bought it from amazon. It seems to be working fine at the moment
 
Skybox F6 help help help.

Hi all seems like this is the place to be for any info on my Skybox F6.

I bought it new off friend of a friend and presumed it was a plug and play, after looking in to this
for about a week and picking up little bits of info here and there i have ended up here. I already
have a code but cant find a way to cccam menu! any info would be much appreciated.. Thanks
