Sony vaio screen issue

Hi guys,

Got a Sony sve1711r1eb laptop, turned it on this morning and it's not displaying correctly. I've connected up to the monitor through rgb and it outputs to that fine. Before I buy a new screen, can anyone tell me if they think it's definitely the screen

Check that the internal display cable is not loose or damaged, that sometimes causes these symptoms. If it's not the cable then it has to be either the screen itself or the video chip.

thanks for the reply, pulled the screen out and redid the cable seems to have sorted it
