Standby query and some others, sorry!

Hi everyone got a couple of questions please:

1. Is it ok to put this box into standby, the reason I'm asking is that i put my box into standby and when turning it back some sections of the bouquets were blank and a lot of channels were blank, i had to re-scan the bouquets to fix it.

2. When unplugging the box and plugging back in do i need to reformat and mount the usb again?

3. When the box is in standby does it still record things I've set

4. How do i do like a series link?

5. My box seems a little slow is there anyway to speed it up?

Hi Jafo

1) if you are using one of the images on here then I believe they are designed to be left on all the time. The EPG updates in the early hours, for example. I believe in the XMLimporter plug in you can tell it to wake the box from standby so you might want to look at that.

2) No, you shouldn't need to do that

3) I think it does, but I leave mine on all the time

4) in the epg select the program and 2 options pop up. It's the bottom one. You can then fine tune how you want the series link to fire and when.

5) have you only got a single USB handling timeshift, recordings, epg, and swap all at once? If so, I'd get a USB hdd and set that up to do recording and ts duties. Also, if you haven't set a cache of 512mb on the USB I'd do that.
