I'm totally new to using sat receivers etc.

I just got a Openbox v8s with skybox software installed. I'm currently testing a few lines to get one I like.

What I wanted to know is there any cool things I should be doing ?

How can I record ? There's a USB on the back and front can I connect a 1Tb external hard drive for recording ?

Anything that's cool makes the box better can you share with me ?

Hi mate, no add-ons for the openbox really. Best just using for satellite as the iptv isnt really worth using, lot of messing with xml files with servers on etc etc. You can plug in your external hard in either of the usb ports (fat32 formatted), you can then record by going to your epg and record direct from there. Because the v8's isnt a twin tuner you wont be able to watch a different channel while you recording. Good luck
 
Depends what you want to use it for. If it is simply to watch sports and tv then the openbox is fine, if you love your tv, want to record and watch another channel, watch movies and series on the box etc then an enigma2 box would be better
