Hopefully an easy question. I have fibre optic running through my bt hub. I run one lan cable to my openbox which is ten metres away.
I want to expand the amount of lan cables where my openbox is as I have a PS4, smart TV, Android box.
I saw the TP-LINK TL-SG105 5-port Ethernet Switch which I want to ask a question about.
If I run one cable from my router to the switch. Then 4 cables to my devices will this work?
I have no experience of this stuff so don't know if I have to tell the switch to talk to the router etc or if it should all work automatically.
Any guidance?
Reason I don't run cables all from my router is the space it would take going round door edges etc as wooden floors.
