Vu+ Duo 2 Questions (transcoding)

guys,

can you tell me a couple of things?

is the Vu+ Duo2 still a fairly current box? It's a lot of money for old tech if not.

My main requirement is something that will reliably do transcoding, as i want to stream my VM channels over the internet. is this a good choice?


(i just got a technomate tm-twin 4k but the transcoding seems a little flaky)

I have the Duo 2 and it's fairly good for transcoding as you can adjust the bit rate. I've not done it over the net only over wifi. I think the transcoding is hardware based rather than software on lots of boxes. Price wise yes it still goes for quite a bit compared to the newer 4k ones on the market. I would have a look at the Uno 4k to see if that's hardware based and bit rate adjustable.
