ive decided im going to replace my old technomate 9100 super with a VU+ box but i cant decide on which one. im not interested in having a dual tuner or HDD really but is it worth paying a bit extra for the uno as its faster? would there actually be much difference? only other thing i was worried about was the support with the solo box as its an old model now. ive seen brand new solo boxes for £130 and brand new uno for £172, or a second hand one for around £100. so which one should i go for?

neither as they are old, check out miraclebox premium mini hd.

Minimal satellite receiver with Full HD resolution to one of the lowest prices!

Miraclebox Premium Mini HD is a new model in the Premium series from Miraclebox Multimedia. As the name indicates, the receiver is very small and can be seen as a perfect set-top-box for the basic user. Just as in the Premium Twin the user interface is user friendly with possibilities to stream video and audio to your phone or tablet. The software is based on open source Linux (E2), the same as found in the Dreambox and VU +, to guarantee maximum flexibility and stability.

The CPU is a single core Broadcom processor running at 750 MHz to provide a stable digital receiver that can handle all the basic functions. The embedded memory is totally 1 GB to be able to store Picons (program icons), Plugins and EPG data without worrying about space.

Premium Mini HD has a built-in satellite tuner (DVB-S2) to receive both SD and HD channels. You have one extra tuner slot if you want to insert an extra S2 tuner be able to record one channel while watching another. To record and use the timeshift functions you can either connect an external hard drive or a network drive.

To obtain maximum enjoyment from your Miraclebox Premium you should connect it to a network with Internet. Share your recordings and media with your other linux receiver or PC. You can also record directly to a network hard drive (NAS) instead of an external one. Download plugins, EPG data, settings or applications or use the web interface to stream and control your receiver from your web browser.

A unique feature of the Premium series is that you can stream the video and sound to your computer, favorite tablet or smartphone. The MB Live TV app is available to download free of charge on the App Store. Read more about the app on
