Which box?

I have a Cloud IBOX 2+ and find it a lot better than the V8 I use in another room

I want one that is much faster and with more features, I have been looking at the VU+ Duo but it seems pricey, the VU+ Solo is about the top end of my budget and has a twin tuner, is this the best box available at the £250 price point?

Also - Which firmware is best on the unit? I think I am using Vix on the IBOX with the sky skin at the moment but it is very laggy.

Could be you are running a very old version of Vix and at a guess I bet you are running like epg data of the flash memory not a usb drive

vu solo2 top box and plenty of people swear by them and use original images with no guessing what one is it.when you have one you wont look back.

I agree VU Solo2 is a quality box but I find all the VU boxes to be over priced for what they are plus you would end up paying £300+ due to needing to add harddrive.
