Why so many Software updates?

Why are there so many software updates?
Recently there have been 20+ updates every couple of days.
Is there a way of doing them automatically?

unless something is broken or you are doing a software update for channel movement, there is really no need to keep updating your box.

Many a time I have actually crashed my box because of a rouge software update.

I personally recommend just doing a software update once a month, or even better, doing a new build install every few months.

only twice in the 7 months has it messed up the box.
Take a backup you can always roll back

dont think i can remember doing a backup lol,but assume best to have a big usb stick or hdd fitted first if doing backups saved?

exactly siilver. twice is twice too many. It's fine if you have regular backup images and know what you are doing. Just keep doing a software update for the hell of it, isn't recommended in my opinion.

Oh I had a wee mid day update there. I had some this morning and just checked there and had another two
oh what a treat

shite sorry, wrong forum.

I tend to look for updates once a week unless I am breaking stuff.
