I have an iphone 4s which was perfect up until yesterday. Now the wifi is greyed out and won't turn on. Any ideas?

try this mate, found on another site,

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Restart your iOS device.
  2. Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
  3. Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
  4. Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.

Thanks for that. I'm not sure about the update part though as The phone is unlocked and my sim is piggy backing on one of those turbo sim adapters . If i update i'm not sure it will work anymore. I'll try the rest first anyway. If i updated it could i then roll back to an earlier version?

Thanks for the reply mate. I couldn't get it working so unfortunately I sold it for half of what I paid. Shame as it was a really good phone, at least I'll know for again if i have this issue.
Thanks again for the help.
