According Information Week, this is caused by a Microsoft security feature, as it will not allow users to run a clean install, this is because the feature only allows for installs on machines already running on Windows.
XP users are certainly not happy with seeing these error messages, as they were promised that Windows 7 would be a much better option that Vista. However, they would not know this, as they cannot even install the OS.
Information Week do tell us that a number of tech support staff from a number of companies have found a way around this problem, although it is an unofficial solution to the problem.
