Z11 Pro Max and portable drives

Hey everyone, I was wondering if I could get some help with my Z11 Pro Max with anyone who’s familiar with this device.
I’m trying to use my external drives (filled with movies) on the Z11 but when I use the built in file finder or VLC I can not find the hard drives.

SD cards work fine but not my Seagate portable drives.

Do I need to point the Z11 to the drives, if so how?

Using a

"Bipra Ultra Slim USB 3.0 NTFS Portable Hard Drive"​

With my z11 pro max, for recordings and also for importing new back grounds. Could it be something to do with the format of your hard drive. Read it needed ntfs so went with this one.
 
Actually thinking back, when I first plugged mine in and tried looking for images I put on there it was a pain in the arse to find them as the file structure on the hard drive looking on a PC didn't match when looking on it in the formuler file structure
