Just thought I would share. I have had my new box for about a month with no problems at all, until a week ago. My remote stopped working or if it did work I would have to press the volume button 15 times for it to respond. Anyway I bought a new remote only for it to do the same, I then bought a new box.
When I got the new box and plugged it in I was horrified to find it had the same fault, I then took the new box to my brothers house for him to look at and it worked fine, so did my old box. After researching on the net it turns out that your tv can interfere with IR signals from your remote. I changed my Samsung tv settings to eco power save mode to reduce interference as suggested on the web and hey presto it works.
This setting has different names depending what make tv you have, but you are basically reducing the interference by reducing the power but moving the box further away from the tv also has the same affect. I cant explain why the box worked for the first month, but its now up and running again.
