Tv recommendations

I think it really depends on your budget and what features are important to you. The OP had a tight budget and there was a good LG model suggested, but still over their budget.

Before my LG OLED I always bought Samsung TV’s. But generally these have been around £1000. The tight Scotsman in me grudgingly spent nearly £1800 on my LG OLED in 2021. I don’t regret it for one minute, but this is 5 times the budget the OP posted. If money was no object, then buy the best you can afford. I wouldn’t knock HiSense as they have a very good reputation, which is validated by people’s comments above.
I’m going to to buy either the LG G3 or G4. Just waiting to see how much the G4 gets discounted later this year.
I know it will be less than Sony’s
XR-65A95L.

Are Sony Bravia TVs any better than Samsung & LG TVs?
What is your definition of better ?

Build quality and components used in the Sony will be higher than LG or Samsung, but then you are paying alot more for it.

The screen in Sony OLED's is supplied by LG, no idea about their LED's but it's prob a mix of LG and Samsung panels again as I doubt they make there own.

I can't see me replacing my LG for at least another 2/3 years. The jump from my LED Samsung to LG OLED was a generational leap from 1080p to 4K HDR. I would need a similar jump in specification for me to consider an earlier upgrade.

I had to buy a Hisence 55inch tv. As as our old 1080p bedroom telly died on the spot.
The original idea was to put LG 4k 50ins upstairs. Plan still to get a new 55 or 65in LG OLED costing about £1200ish
You guys are now showing another TCL 55 Inch 55C645K Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR QLED Android TV.

What is the difference between TLC QLED HDR tv & LG HDR OLED tv.

LG is pricey.

Depends on the lighting of the room aswell. Qleds are good for rooms which get a lot of light

Sony make their own backlit displays and use LG WOLED displays and use Samsung QD-OLED displays.
They like to take other manufacturers technology and use better processors and picture processing to make their TVs better than their competitors.
They also like to charge you more as well.

The only big jump in WOLED panels was last year when LG introduced MLA technology on some of their higher end TVs G3 and above.
The peak brightness on their MLA TVs matches all the other TV’s on the market.
Basically making them a lot brighter and ideal for watching TV in a brightly lit room.
Samsung’s QD-OLED are also achieving this but I have read that they are prone to burn in issues with the panels.
I will stick with LG for now.

And then ruin it all with android as the OS.

I haven’t used it but I think WebOS on LG is ok.
What don’t you like about android OS on Sony TVs?
I'm not an android fan in general tbh, but when Sony switched to Android OS, they had lots of issues, of the tv being slow to respond, crashing, not switching on etc, seemed to go on for years. Prob sorted now, but wasn't good for high end (bloody expensive) tv's having an OS that just didn't work well.

Issue with new tv already, hoping it's just a setting.
When watching through zgemma h9. 2h there is a static/ popping sound when changing channel and it happens every so often when watching a channel.
Anyone had this issue? HISENSE 50A6KTUK 50"

Have you tried any other HDMI tv ports or another cable?
Are you using an AVR system or TV speakers?
